St. Mary is the winner of the new app, Xspero’s, February promotion. St. Mary supporters raised $229, without spending more, just by shopping on the Xspero Network. And because they shopped the most on the app, Xspero is matching that amount, bringing the total to $458.
Xspero sells digital certificates to businesses in the community. Every time a user purchases a certificate, 20 percent goes to the user’s nonprofit of choice, at no additional cost. “St. Mary School is excited to be partnering with Xspero, and we are very pleased that we were the top earner for the month,” said Principal Steve Hogan.
With the Xspero match, St Mary School has earned a total of $627 from their supporters making purchases on the app since January, without spending more.
Money earned from Xspero will go towards a school-wide project on a wall at the entrance of the building. “Our plans are to create a mosaic on the entire wall that when assembled, will spell out St. Mary School and will showcase students’ art,” said Hogan.
But creating the wall will require a lot more than creativity, and thanks to their courses, St. Mary students will be prepared for the challenge. The school’s Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art and Math (STREAM) curriculum is equipping students with the skills needed for the project.
“All students, in kindergarten through eighth grade, will create a piece of tile for the wall. They will also help in the overall design and layout utilizing math, art and engineering skills to complete the project,” continued Hogan.
Parent and user of Xspero, Kelly Davis, uses the app frequently for her shopping and supports her children’s school with every purchase. “Currently, our two youngest children attend St. Mary School. In my opinion, using the Xspero app is a win-win for both St. Mary School as well as me, the consumer. I am going to be making purchases anyway, so I am happy to help St. Mary earn money at the same time,” said Davis.
Davis is also the largest earner for the school so far. “I am thrilled to learn of the amount St. Mary School has earned through the Xspero app. I would encourage parents, grandparents, friends, family and neighbors to get on board. The Xspero app offers a simple way to earn money for St. Mary School,” she continued.
And according to Davis, the app is extremely easy to use, and the merchants she has used an Xspero for are all supportive of it. The app’s user-friendly interface will certainly help St. Mary to raise enough for their project.
